Program Information

Keep Ohio Beautiful supports and promotes all Keep America Beautiful litter prevention, community improvement education programs, and awareness events and campaigns through Ohio KAB Affiliates. According to KAB research, cleaner, more livable communities are the result of statewide efforts like these.

KOB Affiliates

Great American Cleanup	Litter Free Events

Great American Cleanup

The Great American Cleanup is sponsored nationally by Keep America Beautiful. This annual cleanup and beautification event involves an estimated 2.5 million people volunteering more than 8 million hours to clean, beautify and improve 16,000 communities during 30,000 events from coast to coast in all 50 states. Activities include beautifying parks and recreation areas, cleaning seashores and waterways, handling recycling collections, picking up litter, planting trees and flowers, and conducting educational programs and litter free events.

Litter Free Events

KOB affiliates sponsor litter free events in order to change public behavior and attitudes towards littering. Studies show that each public event attendee generates as much as two pounds of trash in a four-hour period! At litter free events people take responsibility to clean up their area and the event venue
