Go Green, Get Green is a Dirt Devil Success

CLEVELAND—(July 20, 2006) – Dirt Devil hosted Go Green, Get Green, a vacuum recycling event in Eastlake in conjunction with the company’s ambitious plan to reduce waste and become more environmentally minded. Dirt Devil collected more than 50 unwanted vacuums at the Eastlake Wal-Mart store last Sunday July 16, and recycled them at Medina Plastics. Nearly $500 in proceeds from the event were donated to Keep Ohio Beautiful, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering local communities to take responsibility for improving their environment through litter prevention, beautification and waste reduction.

Approximately 10 Dirt Devil team members volunteered at the event, helping unload cars, direct traffic and educate consumers who took part. This initiative stemmed from Wal-Mart encouraging its vendors to be more environmentally responsible. Dirt Devil, as an industry leader, spearheaded this important initiative by hosting the event and was thrilled with the outcome. Due to the success of this event in the Cleveland market, Dirt Devil will present their plan to Wal-Mart next month to consider for a national program rollout next year.

Dirt Devil understands the importance of its leadership role and is committed to building a foundation of strong retailer, community and employee partnerships. Dirt Devil will continue to develop and incorporate new programs similar to Go Green, Get Green that increase their efficiencies, reduce waste, and respect all aspects of the environment. Information regarding this event as well as additional programs and facts is available at http://www.dirtdevil.com/fightdirty.
